To cancel your AT&T internet service, you can follow any of the following methods:
- Contact Customer Service: Call AT&T’s customer service at 1-800-288-2020 and have your account number and PIN ready. When prompted, say “Cancel service” and then “internet”. You will be transferred to a retention department representative who will try to persuade you to stay. Be firm and decline any offers. Pay off any outstanding balances or early termination fees (ETF) if applicable. Return the AT&T internet equipment to avoid additional charges. Confirm that billing has stopped and dispute any additional fees if any.
- Online: Log in to your account on the AT&T website, go to the payments page, click on “I want to cancel,” answer follow-up questions, and confirm cancellation.
Please note that if you cancel after 14 days of activation and are subject to a term commitment, you must pay service fees and other charges incurred, including an ETF. If you need to leave your home for an extended period (due to military service, natural disaster, or vacation), you may be able to suspend your AT&T internet service temporarily by calling (800) 288-2020 and following the prompts to schedule your suspension.
