Jalandhar argues that idols like the shaligram are just stones and urges the devotees to forsake their worship.

Suddenly, Mahishasur appears and advises the devotees to stop praying to Narayan’s shaligram, claiming that demons have captured all gods, including Narayan. He uses his powers to magically provide food and promises more if they pledge allegiance to Jalandhar. Convinced by his displays of power, the devotees abandon the shaligram.

Jalandhar then arrives and promises to fulfill their desires if they worship him instead. He performs miracles like healing a handicapped man and helping an infertile woman conceive. Impressed and grateful, the devotees begin chanting Jalandhar’s name and abandon their worship of the shivling.
